Young investor defied his parents

Third-year economics undergraduate Barry Toa started investing in the financial market about four years ago. Though his parents disapproved, that did not stop the Singapore Management University student and his brother, who is six years older, from pooling together $10,000 to buy shares during the 2008 financial crisis. He said there are a lot of risks when it comes to investing and one cannot invest without doing any homework.
