About SMU-Jinan Conference on Urban and Regional Economics

SMU School of Economics first began its inaugural conference in 2017. It was held independently for 4 years before the partnership agreement was put in place.

Later in 2021, the collaboration between SMU and Jinan University (located in Guangzhou, China) was established. The SMU-Jinan Conference on Urban and Regional Economics is a partnership where each university rotates the hosting of the annual conference so that the two universities share the responsibility of hosting the annual conference as well as give participants the opportunity to experience the two different countries here in Asia. The objective of the conference is to gather world leading experts to share their latest knowledge and research in urban and regional economics.
