SMU’s School of Economics emerged as Asia’s top Economics School in the latest Tilburg University Economics Ranking. In this ‘Top 100 Economics Schools Research Ranking’, SMU now ranks number one in Asia and 57th internationally based on number of articles published in leading economics journals between 2009 and 2012. In the ‘Econometrics’ category, SMU ranks fourth internationally, ahead of renowned and older universities like the London School of Economics, Duke University, MIT and Stanford University. The School of Economics’ prolific research output in top journals like the American Economic Review and the Journal of Econometrics, as recognised by this international ranking, bears testimony of the School’s increasing reputation worldwide.
