In his weekly commentary, SMU Adjunct Faculty Dr Larry Haverkamp discussed the concept of crowdfunding insurance. He noted that crowdfunding has recently found its way into insurance, adding that it is still small but has potential. He explained that it would reduce conflicts since insured parties should band together and offer each other compensation when a loss is suffered by one, which is how it was done when insurance started.
