New Developments on Trade and Spatial Economics
The analysis and quantification of the effects of economic integration has become increasingly important. A central question in current trade literature is to understand and quantify; what are the disaggregate/distributional/welfare effects of trade shocks? New economic quantitative methods are a useful tool to understand the trade offs countries, industries, and workers face when exposed to changes in economic circumstances (like trade openness). In this lecture we will go over recent developments on the trade and spatial literature. The lecture will focus on presenting the methods and going over some examples.
